First Finance Organizes Training Course Entitled:
Operational Risks Management According to Basel II Requirements |

|
To develop skills and upgrade abilities among its personnel, First Finance has organized
a five-day training course for a chosen number of its staffers. The course started
on 14/2/2010 (in the headquarters of First Finance /Imam Malik Hall) and came to
an end on 18/2/2010. The guest lecturer was Dr. Nabil Hashshad, Chairman of Arab
Center for Financial and Banking Studies and Consultations and an ex-expert with
Qatar Central Bank and International Monetary Fund.
The training course included the following main topics:
1- Operational risks and operational risks management (essential topics, definitions
and examples).
2- Examples of operational Risks.
3- Statistical models of operational loss.
4- Methods of operational risks management.
5- Ways to reduce operational risks.
6- Basel II Accord and operational risks.
7- Basel committee documents related to operational risks management.
8- Practical cases of operational risks in some banks.

Having thanked Dr. Nabil Hashshad for conducting this beneficial course, Dr. Khalid
Bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, F.F.C executive president, said: " For sure, the course
is part and parcel of a series of courses that aim at providing the local and Gulf
markets with the most modern means and methods to face challenges and difficulties
and to innovate new Islamic Financial products for the purpose of serving modern
society and customers, in addition to introducing the best solutions."
He added: "This training program is one of a series of training courses and programs
which F.F.C. has decided to provide to its staffers in all specializations in order
to promote investment in human resources and to secure abilities."
Mr. al-Hadi Habbani , risk department manager, explained that: " The training course
has demonstrated a high quality professional development program. Hopefully soon
F.F.C. will apply the most modern techniques in risk department, especially in operational
risks."
At the end, Dr. Khalid al-Sulaiti handed over certificates to distinguished employees
in the presence of Mr. Hamad Ahmad al-Muhannadi, senior executive manger of administrative
affairs, who said: "The program has come in the framework of the Company's plan
to promote and upgrade abilities of staffers so as to secure the best level of customer
service."
